Norman Reedus is not just your typical Hollywood actor. He is that rugged guy with an intense gaze who battles zombies in The Walking Dead and saves the town as a badass vigilante in The Boondock Saints. But maintaining an on-screen persona and a physique as enviable as that takes a lot – an incredible amount of acting prowess, a rigorous fitness routine, along with meticulous attention to skincare and overall health.
Norman Reedus is known for some of his blockbuster hits like All Saints Day and Cadillac Records. In a career spanning almost 25 years, he’s acted in over 50 films and shows combined!
In the whirlwind of his busy schedule, the Six Ways to Sunday actor finds moments for something we all appreciate – self-care. He also seems to have a dedicated partner to do that – his fiancée, Diane Kruger!
Diane Kruger is a trilingual German actress most known for her breakout roles in Troy and the critically acclaimed Quentin Tarantino’s war film Inglourious Basterds. Kruger and Reedus met on the sets of Sky in 2015 and made their relationship public a few years later, even welcoming a baby girl in November 2018. Reedus also has a 19-year-old son, Mingus Lucien, with his ex, Helena Christensen. The young couple often expresses their love for each other through social media and Hollywood events.
In one of their Instagram posts, the couple shared a snapshot of their faces sporting what appeared to be charcoal face masks. In the playful mirror selfie, Reedus and his partner stuck their tongue out for the camera; Reedus even drew a cross shape on his neck with some of the mask.
However, combined skin care is not all that Reedus does to keep his health at its best. Reedus believes in taking a holistic approach to fitness and health, including skincare. When asked to define his fitness, Reedus told Men’s Journal, “I think it’s more of a lifestyle choice. It has to do with how you eat, how you sleep, and not just go into the gym but working out throughout the day.”
Reedus also credits his shooting schedules of films and shows that help keep him in shape. For example, while filming The Walking Dead, he told the Men’s Journal, “It’s very easy to stay in shape because you’re running through woods.” Since filming the final episodes of the hit post-apocalyptic horror television series, the focus seems to have shifted. At times, he enlists the help of his trainer in New York to “shed any holiday pounds.” He also has a gym in the house, which helps him work out whenever he can despite his busy schedule.
